Job Summary
Supports Savers vision by assisting drivers to properly unload donations onto carts in the warehouse, separating soft and hard goods, large items and furniture, weighing carts, organizing full carts in warehouse, accurately completing route paperwork with weights and truck checks of empty trucks, loading trailers according to specific Savers guidelines, continuously recording product weights and type while loading trailers, assist with daily counting and entry of Stock on Hand. Assist in loading/unloading trucks for transfers to stores.
Roles and Duties:
- Performs truck/trailer loading and unloading activities following the guidance provided by supervisors
- Stacks assorted containers and packages on carts to confirm their mass
- Assemble sizable items in the assigned space
- Set up the furniture in the specified zone
- Responsible for the cleanliness and clearance of aisles and pathways from any obstructions.
- Use a calculator correctly to subtract or add tare weights from loaded carts of products to establish the net weights with precision
- Note down the cart numbers, weights, and duration for unloading in the driver's route paperwork
- Finish Savers Delivery Reports by filling in all necessary details
- Maintain a regular inventory count and document the stock levels in the warehouse and trailers in the correct format
- Checks forklifts to ensure that they align with both Savers' policies and the legal requirements of the state in terms of safety and working conditions.
- Undertake miscellaneous tasks as needed, such as ensuring tidiness in the office and restroom sections
Qualifications:
- Mastery of OSHA, state, and Savers safety regulations and requirements is essential for managing safety protocols efficiently
- Demonstrated organization skills
- Skill set for operating a forklift
- Ability to effectively communicate through speech and the written word
- Juggling multiple inbound and outbound truck deliveries concurrently
- Ability to develop incoming shipment logs and load manifests
- Aptitude in understanding and interpreting instructions presented in written, oral, diagrammatic, or calendar form
- Capability to establish priorities, adhere to deadlines with flexibility, and manage multiple tasks efficiently with minimal oversight
- Proficiency in scrutinizing information with accuracy.
- Able to occasionally handle loads of up to 70 lbs in weight
- The skill to operate a pallet jack by either drawing or propelling it in a specific direction
- Capability to move or propel laden carts onto the weighing platform for measurement
- Proficiency in performing tasks in warehouse conditions that may involve extreme temperatures
- The ability to consistently stand, walk, bend, and lift is crucial for the completion of routine activities
Education and Experience:
- Recognition through the completion of a high school diploma or an equivalent qualification is a key to opening doors to further education
- Experience in docks or warehouses is considered a plus
- Forklift training certification
- Employing the right lifting methods and procedures is essential for injury prevention and ensuring a secure working environment
