Warehouse Inventory Specialist

Job Summary

Supports Savers vision by assisting drivers to properly unload donations onto carts in the warehouse, separating soft and hard goods, large items and furniture, weighing carts, organizing full carts in warehouse, accurately completing route paperwork with weights and truck checks of empty trucks, loading trailers according to specific Savers guidelines, continuously recording product weights and type while loading trailers, assist with daily counting and entry of Stock on Hand. Assist in loading/unloading trucks for transfers to stores.

Roles and Duties:

• Implements truck/trailer loading and unloading procedures as directed by supervisors
• Layers boxes, bags, and packages on carts to check their weight validation
• Build a stack of big items in the designated area
• Position the furniture as required in the designated zone
• Responsible for maintaining cleanliness and ensuring that aisles and walkways are clear of any obstacles.
• Accurately utilize a calculator to deduct or add tare weights when measuring the net weights of loaded product carts
• Record the identification numbers of the carts, their weights, and the time it takes to unload them on the driver's designated route sheets
• Ensure that the Savers Delivery Reports are completed with all the required data
• Maintain a regular inventory count and document the stock levels in the warehouse and trailers in the correct format
• Inspects forklifts to verify they adhere to both Savers regulations and state legislation regarding safety and working conditions.
• Fulfill other responsibilities as delegated, such as managing the upkeep of office spaces and washrooms

Qualifications:

• Awareness of OSHA, state, and Savers safety stipulations and criteria is fundamental for upholding safety measures
• Demonstrated organization skills
• Capacity to handle a forklift
• Ability to effectively communicate through speech and the written word
• Managing the simultaneous handling of multiple inbound and outbound truck deliveries
• Skill in generating inbound delivery records and cargo documentation
• Skill in interpreting instructions furnished in written, oral, graphic, or ordered form
• Aptitude in setting priorities, meeting deadlines flexibly, and efficiently managing multiple tasks with little direction
• Talent for being observant and precise in examination.
• Has the ability to occasionally elevate objects weighing up to 70 lbs
• The competence to handle a pallet jack by applying force to either pull or push it as needed
• Capacity to transport or transfer loaded carts onto the weighing device to ascertain mass
• Proficiency in performing tasks in warehouse conditions that may involve extreme temperatures
• The capacity to move, bend, and lift continually is essential for carrying out everyday activities without interruption

Education and Experience:

• Securing a high school diploma or its equal equivalent sets a strong foundation for future endeavors
• Candidates with a background in docks or warehouses are at an advantage
• Forklift training certification
• Proper lifting procedures and techniques play a significant role in maintaining a safe working environment and preventing accidents
