Job Summary
Supports Savers vision by assisting drivers to properly unload donations onto carts in the warehouse, separating soft and hard goods, large items and furniture, weighing carts, organizing full carts in warehouse, accurately completing route paperwork with weights and truck checks of empty trucks, loading trailers according to specific Savers guidelines, continuously recording product weights and type while loading trailers, assist with daily counting and entry of Stock on Hand. Assist in loading/unloading trucks for transfers to stores.
Roles and Duties:
- Performs truck/trailer loading and unloading activities following the guidance provided by supervisors
- Aligns boxes and parcels on wheeled carts to verify their weights accurately
- Build a stack of big items in the designated area
- Place the furniture in the designated space as instructed
- Obligated to maintain the cleanliness and ensure the absence of debris in aisles and walkways.
- Correctly apply a calculator to subtract or add tare weights from packed product carts, accurately determining the net weights
- Make a record of the cart numbers, weights, and time taken for unloading on the driver's route paperwork
- Fulfill the Savers Delivery Reports by providing all the necessary information
- Record the inventory levels in the warehouse and trailers daily in the appropriate documentation format
- Checks forklifts to ensure they meet the safety and operational requirements set by Savers and state legislation.
- Handle other duties as delegated, including housekeeping duties in the office and restroom areas
Qualifications:
- Mastery of OSHA, state, and Savers safety regulations and requirements is essential for managing safety protocols efficiently
- Demonstrated organization skills
- Capacity to handle a forklift
- Proficiency in oral and written expression
- Juggling multiple inbound and outbound truck deliveries concurrently
- Capacity for producing receiving ledgers and transportation manifests
- Skill in interpreting instructions furnished in written, oral, graphic, or ordered form
- Ability to prioritize effectively, meet deadlines with adaptability, and multitask independently with minimal supervision
- Capability to be precise and meticulous in tasks.
- Is able to occasionally lift items up to 70 lbs
- The expertise in maneuvering a pallet jack by exerting force to either pull or push it with precision
- Expertise in moving or propelling laden carts onto the scale for the purpose of weighing
- Expertise in handling the temperature challenges of working in a warehouse environment
- The requirement to stand, walk, bend, and lift continuously is essential for the completion of daily tasks
Education and Experience:
- Successful completion of high school education or a similar certification marks the beginning of new possibilities
- Experience in docks or warehouses is considered a plus
- Forklift training certification
- Proper lifting procedures and techniques play a significant role in maintaining a safe working environment and preventing accidents
