Certified Pharmacy Technician

Job Summary

Assists the pharmacist in daily pharmacy operations under direct supervision, including prescription processing, inventory management, and customer service. Ensures compliance with company procedures and state and federal regulations, while contributing to a positive and efficient pharmacy environment.

Responsibilities

• Supports prescription processing by retrieving, counting, and verifying medications.
• Engages with customers by greeting them, answering questions, and resolving issues.
• Registers sales, handles transactions, and assists customers in locating OTC products.
• Processes manual third-party claims and performs clerical duties as needed.
• Assists pharmacists with clinical services and coordinates with external healthcare providers.
• Maintains pharmacy inventory by ordering, unpacking, and storing pharmaceuticals.
• Adheres to Good Faith Dispensing and reports prescription errors promptly.
• Follows policies for quality improvement and asset protection.
• Participates in medical provider outreach and community health forums as directed.
• Supports pharmacy team workflow and maintains a clean and organized department.
• Completes special assignments and other tasks as required by management.

Qualifications and Experience

• Must be fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English.
• Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
• Preferred: Six months of experience in a retail environment.
• Preferred: Prior experience with Walgreens.
• Preferred: Strong math and computer skills.
• Preferred: Knowledge of inventory control procedures.
• Preferred: PTCB certification.
