Job Summary
To support Savers' vision, it is vital to assist drivers in unloading donations onto carts in the warehouse correctly, segregating between soft and hard goods, large items, and furniture, weighing carts precisely, arranging filled carts in an orderly manner within the warehouse, filling out route paperwork accurately including weight details and truck inspections, loading trailers based on specific Savers guidelines, consistently recording product weights and categories while loading trailers, aiding in the routine inventory counting and entry of Stock on Hand. Moreover, participating in the loading and unloading of trucks for store transfers contributes significantly to the fulfillment of Savers' mission.
Roles and Duties:
- Undertakes loading and unloading of trucks/trailers according to management directives
- Stacks assorted containers and packages on carts to confirm their mass
- Build a stack of big items in the designated area
- Organize the furnishings within the allocated area
- Responsible for the upkeep of aisles and walkways, ensuring they are clear of debris.
- Accurately utilize a calculator to deduct or add tare weights to loaded product carts for the calculation of net weights
- Make a record of the cart numbers, weights, and time taken for unloading on the driver's route paperwork
- Finalize the Savers Delivery Reports by entering all the essential data
- Ensure a systematic daily count and recording of all inventory present in the warehouse and trailers
- Examines forklifts to guarantee their adherence to the safety and operational regulations outlined by Savers and the state.
- Undertake miscellaneous tasks as needed, such as ensuring tidiness in the office and restroom sections
Qualifications:
- Understanding of OSHA, state, and Savers safety standards and obligations is crucial for compliance in the workplace
- Demonstrated organization skills
- Capability to maneuver a forklift
- Aptitude in exchanging information through speech and written language
- Capability to coordinate numerous incoming and outgoing truck loads simultaneously
- Ability to develop incoming shipment logs and load manifests
- Skill in interpreting instructions furnished in written, oral, graphic, or ordered form
- Proficiency in setting priorities, meeting flexible deadlines, and multitasking efficiently with minimal guidance
- Proficiency in meticulous attention to detail.
- Possesses the capacity to occasionally raise objects weighing up to 70 lbs
- The expertise in maneuvering a pallet jack by exerting force to either pull or push it with precision
- Proficient in maneuvering or transporting loaded carts onto the weighing platform for mass evaluation
- Skill in adapting to the diverse temperature conditions present in warehouse environments
- The capability to stand, walk, bend, and lift without breaks is vital for successfully completing daily tasks
Education and Experience:
- Attainment of a high school diploma or an equivalent qualification is a crucial education milestone
- Having prior dock or warehouse experience is beneficial
- Forklift training certification
- Implementing correct lifting procedures and methods is key to ensuring safety and reducing the likelihood of accidents
