Pharmacy Intern Grad

Job Summary

Provides pharmacy consulting services to customers regarding the effective use of medications, awareness of drug interactions, and preventive healthcare services such as immunizations. Responsible for compounding, dispensation, review, and verification of prescribed medications within regulatory guidelines and company policies. Supports efficient pharmacy workflow and assists in identifying opportunities to enhance financials, inventory management, and customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities

• Engages customers by offering assistance and resolving issues to ensure a positive experience.
• Shares customer service best practices and builds strong relationships by anticipating needs and promoting healthcare services.
• Counsels patients on medication usage, side effects, interactions, and addresses privacy concerns.
• Performs tasks including drug compounding, verification, therapy reviews, and medication management.
• Ensures pharmacy compliance with regulations and company standards, including opening and closing procedures.
• Implements Good Faith Dispensing policies in line with federal and state laws.
• Supports pharmacy systems, proposes improvements, and resolves insurance claims issues.
• Collaborates with providers for prescription clarifications and alternative solutions.
• Delivers clinical services such as immunizations and wellness programs.
• Assists in analyzing pharmacy financials, KPI reviews, and inventory management.
• Builds community and provider relationships through outreach and engagement.
• Partners with Central Pharmacy Operations to support remote and in-store processes.
• Supports staff hiring, training, and development in collaboration with the pharmacy manager.
• Promotes teamwork, monitors progress, and fosters a positive work environment.
• Maintains current knowledge of industry trends and pursues relevant certifications and training.
• Communicates company strategies and wellness initiatives to pharmacy staff.

Qualifications and Experience

• Willingness to obtain a Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm D) degree from an accredited institution prior to the start date.
• Willingness to obtain pharmacist licensure within 90 days of hire, per district guidelines.
• Experience with prescription dispensing and a strong knowledge of controlled substance laws.
• Certified Immunizer or willing to become certified within 90 days of hire.
