Long-Distance Freight Driver

Job Summary

As a US FOODS Driver, you will have a vital role in our team and be a key ambassador for our organization. Your actions will directly impact our customers by ensuring the prompt delivery of our products to their designated drop-off sites.

Roles and Duties:

• Transport goods securely by driving trucks to customers and arriving at scheduled delivery times
• Transfer merchandise from the trailer utilizing equipment like a two-wheeler or pallet jack, or by manual labor, and position them in the designated customer storage zones
• Ensure the correctness of deliveries through customer validation and collecting the proper signatures
• Provide support in handling customer collections and payments when required
• Conduct customer service tasks skillfully to elevate client satisfaction levels
• Inspect all equipment carefully both before departure and upon arrival

Physical Requirements

• The role mandates the consistent handling of products ranging from 20 to over 80 pounds, requiring physical strength to lift, carry, push, and pull
• Being at ease with driving and working in inclement weather, including frequent stops (10 or more per shift), is a prerequisite

What You Bring to the Table

• Become a member of the FMCSA Clearinghouse by registering
• To be eligible, you must have reached the age of 21
• It is necessary for the individual to have a valid CDL Class A from their state of legal residence, endorsed as required, and meeting DOT qualifications
• Minimum of six months commercial driving experience (any industry) OR three months commercial driving experience in the food and/or beverage delivery industry required
• Having the skill to operate manual transmission is preferred and might be required in certain locations
• The ability to hold conversations, interpret highway traffic signs and signals, respond to official inquiries, and input data accurately is crucial for this role.

• Pay is determined by the pertinent experience and/or education, specific skills, function, geographic location, and other factors as applicable by law.
