Freight Transport Driver

Job Summary

As a US FOODS Driver, you will play a critical role in our team and be one of the important faces of our organization. Your efforts will have a direct impact on our customers by delivering our products to their drop-off site.

Roles and Duties:

• Ensure on-time delivery to customers by safely driving trucks according to set schedules
• Carefully extract items from the trailer with the help of a two-wheeler, pallet jack, or manual handling, and organize them in the designated areas for customers
• Verify the accuracy of deliveries by cross-checking with customers and getting the correct signatures
• Conduct transactions with customers for collections and payments as needed
• Provide professional customer service to optimize the client's overall experience
• Carry out pre-trip and post-trip equipment checks diligently

Physical Requirements

• The job necessitates the repetitive lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling of products weighing between 20 and over 80 pounds throughout the shift
• The ability to operate vehicles and perform duties in adverse weather conditions while making frequent stops (more than 10 per shift) is a must

What You Bring to the Table

• Enroll your details in the FMCSA Clearinghouse database
• The age limit is set at 21 years
• Possessing a legitimate CDL Class A from the state of legal residence, endorsed as needed, and meeting DOT requirements is obligatory
• Minimum of six months commercial driving experience (any industry) OR three months commercial driving experience in the food and/or beverage delivery industry required
• Proficiency in driving a manual vehicle is desired and could be mandatory in certain regions
• Proficiency in the English language is vital for engaging in conversations, comprehending highway traffic signs and signals, responding to official inquiries, and maintaining accurate records.
