Heavy-Duty Freight Driver

Job Summary

As a US FOODS Driver, you will play a critical role in our team and be one of the important faces of our organization. Your efforts will have a direct impact on our customers by delivering our products to their drop-off site.

Roles and Duties:

• Ensure on-time delivery to customers by safely driving trucks according to set schedules
• Employ tools such as a two-wheeler, pallet jack, or hands to unload merchandise from the trailer and arrange them in the designated customer storage areas meticulously
• Validate the precision of deliveries by confirming with customers and obtaining the required signatures
• Provide support in handling customer collections and payments when required
• Deliver exceptional customer service to enhance the overall client experience effectively
• Perform meticulous pre-trip and post-trip equipment examinations

Physical Requirements

• The ability to repeatedly lift, carry, push, and pull products weighing between 20 and over 80 pounds during each shift stands as a requirement for this role
• Required skills include the capacity to drive and operate effectively in adverse weather conditions, with frequent stops (exceeding 10 per shift)

What You Bring to the Table

• Become part of the FMCSA Clearinghouse by completing the registration
• You are required to be of at least 21 years of age
• It is a requirement for the individual to have a valid CDL Class A from their state of legal residence, accompanied by the necessary endorsements and in accordance with DOT qualifications
• Minimum of six months commercial driving experience (any industry) OR three months commercial driving experience in the food and/or beverage delivery industry required
• Proficiency in driving a manual vehicle is desired and could be mandatory in certain regions
• Effective communication skills in English, understanding of highway traffic signs, cooperation with official inquiries, and meticulous data entry capabilities are essential qualifications.
